What a Gift!

So, it's like this . . .
The thing is that I have not updated my blog because I have actually been up to my eyeballs baking, creating, and decorating Christmas goodies. You would not believe the number of cookies, marshmallows, cake balls, pretzels, and other assorted treats that have gone out of my kitchen!
My niece happened to take some photos from one of our cookie decorating parties. I ask that this lets me off the hook for now.
Merry Christmas and happy baking!

December already? Christmas, here I come!
As you can see, I have not been faithful to updating my brand new blog on a regular basis. But, as I asked in the beginning, please bear with me as I learn my way around this wonderful medium.
The next few weeks should provide countless opportunities for some wonderful postings. Let's see what happens.
Note to self: Quit making excuses and bake something wonderful and post it on your blog!

Happy Thanksgiving!
As the big day approaches, I am getting more and more excited about cooking dinner at home. In today's difficult economic times, this is one occasion that makes me feel very well off -- the ability to make a BIG traditional Thanksgiving feast in my own home and have enough to share with others -- what a blessing!
Be sure to count your blessings and enjoy the Holiday. You are most likely more blessed than you realize.
I made these autumn leaf cookies for my daughter's school. (She's the teacher, not the student!) They're sugar cookies covered with fondant that I marbled in Fall colors and lightly sprinkled with coordinating sanding sugar. Delicious!

Another Day, Another Post
All of my favorite blogs have lots and lots of pictures. Mine has none. Today, I just wanted to enter a new post to get in the habit of regularly updating my page. So this is my post for today. Thanks for noticing me. Later, a real post and (maybe) some cool pics.
Leave a comment; let me know you're out there!

To Everything, a Beginning.
Well, here I go!
Not wanting to be the last on my block with my own blog, I am taking the plunge and starting my page. This, of course, is a work in progress — so please be kind and bear with me.
Check back from time to time and watch as I learn my way around. I'd love to hear from you!
